JAN FARARA BIOGRAPHY
Born in England, Jan studied commercial and fine art in London. She left England in the 1960's to find adventure in the Mediterranean, then sailed for the Caribbean in 1970. She carried on painting - along with bringing up her daughter and managing several restaurants.
Her paintings and murals grace hotels and restaurants on the island. In 2005, she started painting full-time, and has had four successful exhibitions and many commissions since. Her large, colorful canvases are much in demand in Antigua and in many other countries. The subject matter is always the Caribbean. It becomes sometimes more, and sometimes less abstract. However, her artwork always captures the feeling of the islands.
She recently opened her Studio / Gallery in Buckleys. It is located in the middle of the island. Jan always gives her visitors a warm welcome.
